GREECE LAND OF TRADITION

Colour short film entitled “GREECE LAND OF TRADITION”, produced and directed by V. Maros with screenplay by A. Fiadas, presented by the Greek Film Centre for the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO). Through footage of Athens and the Greek islands, the film focuses on the preservation of ancient traditions, featuring Dionysian customs and carnival celebrations in Naousa, Skyros, and Sohos. It also documents the revival of the Anastenaria rituals in Lagkadas, as well as local festivals and traditional dances in Lefkada, Megara, and Thessaloniki. The film concludes with the revival of ancient drama, presenting theatrical performances and backstage scenes from the Herodeion, Epidaurus, and other ancient theatres of Greece.
