The photograph focuses on a unique detail of the cave: ancient names written in clay can be seen on the stalactite formations (such as the name “AINEAS” at the top). These inscriptions date mainly to the 4th century BC and testify to the use of the cave as a place of worship and initiation rites in antiquity.
